96.5% of cheese produced in Turkey is obtained from cow's milk. Total cheese production was 767K/mt in 2020 and 763K/mt in 2021. There are around 180-200 types of cheese. The cheese exports by years; USD 114.2M in 2011, USD 129M in 2012, USD 160.8M in 2013, USD 179M in 2014, USD 169.7M in 2015, USD 163.8M in 2016, USD 165.5M in 2017, USD 182.1M in 2018, USD 174.9M in 2019, USD 185.2M in 2020, and USD 152M in 2021. Our cheese exports are mostly made up of labneh, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese. Turkey is in the 4th position in the world in cheese production.
