Chile is demanding more Peruvian products

During the first seven months of the year, Peruvian shipments of fresh products to Chile grew and, with this, the country managed to gain a position and become Chile´s fourth largest food supplier, with a 7% share, displacing to Canada.

Chilean imports of agricultural products totaled US $ 871 million (+7% growth compared to 2019). Peru provided US $ 61 million total, 26% more than 2019. The products that drove the growth of exports were avocados (56% share in value) and mango (5% share in value). In general, fruits that had a growth of over 61%.

Peruvian products that did not perform well in Chile were nuts, with 9% participation, and lemon, with 6%. The first product had a fall of 11% compared to 2019, while the second fell by 22%.
