MFA Inc. (MFA), a farmer-owned agricultural cooperative, has reached an agreement to acquire four grain elevators in Missouri from ADM. The deal will expand MFA’s presence in the primary grain procurement segment and increase its access to markets. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction includes rural grain storage facilities located in Montgomery City, Center, Novelty, and Shelbina, Missouri, with a combined licensed storage capacity of approximately 6 million bushels. The facilities are located in key grain-producing areas and, following the closing of the transaction, will be integrated into MFA’s existing network, according to a company statement on April 16. “Grain procurement is a core service MFA provides to its members,” noted Jason Weirich, MFA’s Chief Operating Officer.
