In Japan, most of the kiwis distributed are from New Zealand, which starts its season from April to December, with three months from February to April covered by other sources. Such as the Chilean kiwi, whose imports have increased in recent years due to the highly competitive price. In February 2022, in the Japanese market, the price for kiwi from the United States was USD 3.8/kg, while the Chilean kiwi was USD 2.6/kg. Chilean kiwi has a good reputation in the wholesale market, and the shift in demand from American to Chilean kiwi may gradually progress.
