China turns to Thai Cassava to replace Corn

As of January 21, 2021, the average corn price in Shandong province was 3,080 yuan per tonne, an increase of 69.51% from the same period last year, which averaged 1,817 yuan per tonne. Due to insufficient corn production to meet the increasing demand, China is now turning to cassava to replace corn in their animal feed and have already begun adjusting formulas to replace the now overpriced corn.
