COVID-19 has caused quite a strain to the pear market in general, causing shortage in labor, and retail buyers. Pear harvest is just around the corner, however, with the restriction of foreign labors here in Taiwan, there are not enough people to harvest the goods. Retail buyers are scared of going out, despite online sales and wholesale markets, and it still is not enough to sell the goods out.
