The authorities of the National Service of Agrifood Health and Quality (Senasa) ordered the implementation of a procedure for the supervision of the control system for the suitability of cargo in holds and tanks of ships and barges for export of grains, their products, and by-products.

The protocol establishes that a minimum of 10%, and, up to a maximum of 20% of one out of every five vessels authorized by any of the certifying entities registered in the Register of Controllers and Certifiers of Grains and By-products destined for Export must be carried out prior to loading.

This implementation comes to change the fact that when the buyer country does not require official intervention for the inspection of holds or tanks, the cargo suitability verification can now be carried out through certification companies authorized by Senasa, which previously held the monopoly of such verification.
