Demand of Philippines Pineapple Never Goes Down

Demand for the Philippine MD2 pineapple continues to outpace the increased farm output. In addition, suppliers have reported that China and Iran have increased orders, the latter even offering FOB prices beyond USD 12.00/12 kg carton. In contrast, despite the demand, exporters are not confident to send fresh pineapples to the Middle East (other than Iran) due to massive delays in shipment. The delays significantly affect the quality and expose suppliers to heavy losses due to claims.
