Most of the companies from the main wholesale markets in London considerably limited their offers of fresh vegetables. Considering much narrower choices, products like tomatoes, sweet peppers and aubergines became considerably more expensive. If a 5 kg box of bell peppers was sold at about USD 13.10 few weeks ago, in WK 13 the same box would be at least USD 20.96. This situation resulted from strikes of the Spanish transportation companies, which are not satisfied with the uncontrolled increase of price for fuel. In this context many traders declared that they feel uncertain about the time when new arrivals will take place.
