The Turkish ban on tomato exports and long queues at the border crossings have created a difficult situation for producers and exporters in Turkiye. Although the restriction on tomato exports imposed by the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on March 2nd was lifted four days later, its effects are still ongoing. To prevent the accumulation of supply at the border, the installation of containers started in Bulgaria which is expected to be completed within a month to ease border crossings. Another problem is the cancellation of sales due to the insecurity created by products starting to deteriorate on the way.
