A large number of farmers in UP(Northern India) grow potatoes as their profit crop. UP is the biggest potato producer in the country, with an average annual production of over 15 million MT. For most potato farming areas, falling prices due to supply and demand inconsistency have become a major issue. With new crops coming into the market, the prices of potatoes have started dropping, worrying the farmers of these districts whether they could get the right selling price for their products.
