Potato Prices in Egypt Soared by 40% MoM in Aug-24 Due to Export Restrictions

In Aug-24, the price of fresh potatoes in Egypt surged by 40% month-on-month (MoM), reaching USD 609.76/ton (EGP 30,000/ton) compared to USD 406.51/ton (EGP 20,000/ton) in Jul-24. This significant price increase is due to high supply levels and the temporary closure of export markets.
