In February, 19,800/mt the UK exports of pork were 9% more than in February 2021 when it totaled about 18,200/mt. The most positive trends were in the EU markets, where exports nearly tripled compared to the last year reaching 11,200/mt in February. In opposite in the same period exports to China fell by 61% to 4,200/mt. Another less positive aspect for exporters is related to the price level, which on average was set at USD 2.03/kg, or nearly 30% lower than one year ago. This was conditioned by more difficult trade in the context of a relatively higher supply on the EU market. However, the figures on the average price for the next periods might look different, as later overall supply decreased and prices started to rise.
