Ghanaian Producers Shift From Fresh Mango to Dried Mango Exports

Some major Ghanaian mango producers have decided to halt fresh mango exports and instead concentrate on value addition, which in the long run will enable them to generate more foreign revenue. There is very high demand at the moment for processed mango in the international market and some producers want to take advantage of this development and scale up production. In W46, the offer price for processed dried mango stood at USD 8.26/kg (€7.95) FOB compared to USD 1.19/kg (€1.15) FOB for fresh mango exported to international markets.
