Greek Strawberry Supply Halted Due to Weather Conditions

Published Dec 30, 2024
The Greek strawberry season began in early Dec-24, was temporarily halted due to low nighttime temperatures reaching -2°C in production areas. Moreover, cloudy skies slowed plant growth. This delay, however, may have helped avoid some market losses, as local demand was weak, and European markets were receiving substantial volumes of Egyptian strawberries. Strawberry supply in Greece is expected to start strong again during the first week of Jan-25.
