Farmers in southern Brazil are meeting to discuss actions to contain greening in citrus-producing areas. After confirmed cases of "greening" a disease caused by a bacterium that affects all types of citrus and has no cure for diseased plants. The main focus is to prevent the disease from spreading and to maintain the state of Rio Grande do Sul with disease-free status. Before W46, only the state of Paraná had confirmed cases of "greening", but the lack of inspectors in the border regions ended up affecting the sanitary control.
