Finger lime is an exotic citric with increasing demand in Europe and Asia. Still, actual fertilizers costs and rising air freight rates have become challenging to reach these markets. Guatemalan producers expect fertilizers and air freight costs to come down to keep competitive prices compared to other exporting countries like Australia. Industry for so-called “lime caviar” is still small, but the growth potential is huge for Guatemalan producers to diversify their exporting offer.
