High Competition Between Thai Monthong and Vietnam RI6 Durian in China in W45

On Nov 11, 2022, about 2K MT of frozen durian pulps were sold through E-commerce sales channels in China. Durian Pulps were packed for end users in pouch packs of 260g, 350g, 500g, 800g, and 1000g, which are currently highly popular in China. Thailand Monthong and Kanyao are the main ones. Even though it is a small season of Thai durian, the price is below market players’ expectations because on July 2022, Vietnam was allowed to be a third source of durian in China. There is high competition for Thai Monthong since Vietnam Ri6 durian is cheaper. The market price for Frozen Monthong pulps in W45 stood at:
Grade A: USD 9.5-9.8/kg
Grade B: USD 6.3-7.0/kg
Premium Puree: USD 6.7-7.0/kg
