Higher sheep meat production in January 2022

According to DEFRA statistics, 21,200 tons of sheep meat was produced in the UK during January, what is 1,700 MT more that in the same month last year, 9% increase. Clean sheep slaughter increased by 4% only, reaching 908,700 heads. However, heavier (600g) clean carcase weighting in average 20.6kg, contributed to a more significant increase of overall production.
