The price of lemons and limes has skyrocketed in the markets of Tanzania due to the increasing demand in neighbouring country Kenya. As the number of COVID19 cases increases the consumption of lemons has gone up as the fruit is high in vitamin c. At the beginning of July, the wholesale price of lemons ranged from $ 0.07 - $ 0.09 for one lemon whereas now the prices have inflated to $ 0.21 - $ 0.30. The price of a 100 kg bag has increased from m $ 43.48 to $ 86.96 per bag.
