Indonesian Rice Imports Increased in W4 to Tackle the Price Increases

Indonesian rice distributors have seen an increase in rice prices since October 2022, causing disruption in the market. The rice price increased by 10%, from USD 0.64/kg (IDR 9,500/kg) to USD 0.70/kg (IDR 10,514/kg) in December, due to a shortage in the market. The Indonesian government decided to increase imports by 200K MT in W4, in an attempt to stabilize the price until February 2023.
