Italian 2022 Apple Harvest Volume Forecast

The 2022 Italian apple harvest is expecting a harvest volume destined for the fresh market of around 1,862,840 tons, 4% more than last year and slightly higher than the 5-year average. An increase in production is estimated for Red Delicious (+7%) and Gala (+2%) with a new production record for Granny Smith with 157,000 tons (+18%) and Cripps Pink with 107,000 tons. Also, other new varieties, mainly club, are forecast to register an increase of +38%. A decrease in production is estimated for Golden Delicious (-5%), Braeburn (-15%), Fuji (-3%) and Jonagold (-18%).
