On the occasion of World Food Day, the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) wanted to highlight the fundamental role of chicken and pork in the country's food security, being the nutritional base of millions of Brazilians. Projections for 2025 and 2026 place the per capita consumption of animal proteins in Brazil at record levels, reinforcing the prominence of national production in the supply of accessible and nutritious foods. Chicken meat consolidates itself as the main source of animal protein in the Brazilian diet, with a per capita consumption of 47.4 kilograms per inhabitant expected in 2025, the second highest figure in its historical series. On the other hand, in the case of pork, consumption is expected to reach 18 kilograms per inhabitant in 2025, a figure in line with the country's historical highs.
