The production of artichoke in the island of Sardinia, already severely hit by stormy autumn, has been further damaged by heavy hailstorms in the past days. The island of Sardinia accounts for almost 20% of the domestic production. A decrease in its production capacity has brought to scarcity of products on the national scale, especially for the Tema and Spinoso varieties which are less available on the market right now. The quality of the available product is generally low.
