Iran imposes a four-month ban on kiwi exports annually and this year the ban expired on the 6th of October allowing exporters to resume their shipments. The export ban is applied to prevent the exporting of unripe and low-quality fruits as the country is targeting to achieve high-quality kiwifruit shipments. During the first 10 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019-Jan. 20, 2020), the country exported 112 KMT of kiwifruits generating $82 million in revenue. The main export destinations were Iraq, Afghanistan, and Central Asian countries.
