Chen Ji-Zhong, chairman of the Council of Agriculture, held a video conference with the Lithuanian Minister of Agriculture Kęstutis Navickas on 3 March, hoping that Lithuanian beef and other livestock products could be exported to Taiwan. Taiwan stated that Lithuania is not a foot-and-mouth disease-affected area. There has been no case of mad cow disease (BSE) and will review the application of Lithuania beef to Taiwan according to relevant procedures.
