The use of the PKS (Palm Kernel Shell) in the domestic industry is expected to grow in the coming years, driven by the increase in the price of fuel and the trend of the use of bio-energy. This trend is predicted to make producers prioritize to sell to the local market rather than for export. PKS is one of the by-products of palm oil processing. PKS is generally used as solid fuel in various industries including the palm oil industry itself. Currently, the largest PKS export from Indonesia is to Japan.
