The global demand for red lentils has decreased in recent months while green lentils remain in demand. Low demand for red lentils caused prices to drop from different origins including Canada, Russia, and Kazakhstan. In W34 red lentils from Russia and Kazakhstan were trading at USD 700/MT or lower in Mersin, Turkey. There is a vessel scheduled to carry approximately 60,000MT of red lentils in shell from Canada to Turkey. The vessel is expected to arrive at the port of Vancouver in early September, load cargo, and sail to Mersin in September/October, arriving mid-October.
