Citrus fruits like orange, mandarin, lemon or grapefruit remain in a great ally during the outbreak of COVID-19. They help in strengthening the immune system due to which demand for these fruits has increased. Their prices have reached mind-boggling levels, rising from 4 dirhams to 20 dirhams. According to farmers, prices have started to increase since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. There has been limited logistics due to the containment measures which has also impacted the movement of fruits and vegetables. Since the Al Adha, the quantities have greatly reduced, especially oranges and even lemon. In addition, recent droughts have greatly reduced agricultural production.
