Malaysia: the main cocoa powder exporter in Asia

Although Malaysia imports almost 99% of the total cocoa demand in the country, Malaysia is still one of the largest producers of cocoa powder in Asia. This is because the weather in Malaysia is suitable for processing cocoa powder which produces high melting points. For that reason, many countries in Asia prefer to buy cocoa powder processed from Malaysia instead of buying and processing it themselves. Malaysia will import cocoa beans from Africa and grind them to re-export to around Asia.
