Malaysian government has approved subsidies worth USD 71.06 million to stabilize poultry prices. Every kilogram of chicken on the farm will receive a 60-cent as government subsidy. When subsidies are given to farmers, they can sell to wholesalers at a lower price of USD 1.32/kg. Meanwhile, wholesalers sell USD 1.80/kg to traders and consumers will receive a ceiling price of USD 2.10/kg.
