Despite having less than 100K cartons of imported lemons in Japan as of late February 2023, the balance between demands and supplies has been relatively stable. Upon entering the month of March, importers are trying to raise their selling price, roughly by 10%, based on factors like removing the defective stocks from prior arrivals, and an increase in citrus consumption due to warmer weather. In addition, such approaches by the importers will be supported by forecasts of the arrival volume in March and April 2023 to stay moderate, with the termination of lemon imports from both Turkiye and mid-to-small suppliers of the US during these months.
