Melon export to the new markets has been a great challenge to Brazilian farmers

In 2021, some Brazilian growers were able to expand their sales to newer areas such as UAE, but the issues with vessels departing after the ETD and being held for too long in port that stops along the way have been more than troublesome.

One representative example was the containers that left the Port of Pecem to Dubai at the beginning of November with an estimated Transit time of 30 days. The containers are expected to arrive in Dubai only at the end of January. As it will become a lost cargo on arrival, the question that who will be responsible for the losses still remains
