Mid-Autumn Sesame Seed Demand is Below-Average in China

The Mid-Autumn festival coming up on the 10th of September in China. The festival is traditionally a demand peak for sesame seeds to produce sesame paste and sesame oil. However, due to the pandemic in China, not all oil and pasta factories are actively in production. Furthermore, hot pot restaurants have closed due to high rent and labor costs. As a result, the usual demand peak may not occur this year.
