In Jan-24, the majority of Thailand's Mon Thong durian was sold in the form of "Frozen Cut Durian" in Shanghai supermarkets, with selling prices ranging from USD 11.40 to 16.60 per 500 grams (g). This pricing trend has been observed since Nov-23 and continued through Jan-24. The shift to frozen cut durians may be attributed to the limited availability of fresh durians from Thailand towards the end of the season, coupled with lower export-quality fruit.
