The Brazilian state of Espirito Santo handles more than 95% of the Brazilian ginger exports, while the state of Sao Paulo is the largest supplier to the domestic market. The export-grade offers superior quality to that of the domestic market. However, a new venture in the state of Sao Paulo is focusing mostly on export-grade ginger. With an estimated harvest of 800 tonnes this season, they have already exported to the USA, South Africa, Russia, and Lebanon.
