Kenya Starts Harvest of Fuerte Avocados in July

The Kenyan avocado season is ongoing with the second crop commencing in the month of July with the Fuerte variety. The second crop will have a short window that will be open until the end of August 2022. The preferred export destination for the Fuerte variety will be Gulf Cooperation Council countries consisting of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE due to the short transit time and regular shipment intervals. FOB prices for the Fuerte variety in week 29 of 2022 is USD 4.7/kg per 4KG box while the Hass variety is trading at USD 5.7/kg.
