New season in-shell forecast expected to be 800,000 mt (2020- 770,000 mt, 2021- 679,000 mt). In September 2021, Chandler LHP 60% walnut was USD 3.80/lb. The offer for LHP 60% walnut for the 2022 crop is USD 2.40/lb. LHP 60% walnut experienced a 36.8% YoY price drop. Many producers still have the 2021 crop to sell and expect these prices to be even lower. With Chilean walnuts still only 65% sold for the 2022 crop, prices are expected to be soft moving forward into 2023. The currency will have an impact, with USD 12.7% stronger on July 20th,2022, versus GBP compared to the same period a year ago. On July 20th, 2022, the dollar was also 13.25% stronger than the euro in the same period.
