The first harvest of ginger new crop has been depleted in domestic commodity markets, and farmers are beginning to harvest more of the remaining crop as anticipated scarcity and price increase have begun. As for hibiscus, a further rise in prices was experienced in the past week, with new prices at about USD 2,600-2,700 EXW per MT; this is believed to be due to a continued rise in demand and lower area cultivated in the last season. Raw cashew nut crop is expected to be of far better quality than 2021 harvest, as farmers express satisfaction with favorable weather for flowering and fruiting of trees with Ogbomoso origin trading at about USD 1,500 per MT Kogi origin at USD 1,400 EXW per MT in WK 7.
