The Tajik wholesale market is oversaturated with onion supply: new onions from the 2021 season are already in abundance, while the 2020 onions are still on the market in very large quantities. The current price of onions from last year's crop has dropped from 0.20USD/kg to 0.05 USD/kg, while the prices for onions from this year set at the low level of 0.07 USD/kg. Moreover, Russia, which usually exports most of the Tajik onions, is itself oversaturated with cheap onions.
