During W38, the price for Persian cucumbers had an upward trend in the United States (US) market, and the product is becoming scarce in distributors' inventories with diminishing quality among available stock. FOB McAllen, Texas, quotations indicate the following average price ranges:
X-Fancy grade Persian cucumbers were priced from USD 35 to USD 38/22 lbs box, and Fancy grade stood at USD 32 to USD 34/22 lbs box.
While the growers in Michoacan and Jalisco expect to have more volume available in the upcoming weeks, strong demand in both the US and Canadian markets is forecasted to keep driving prices higher in the next few weeks.
