The 2023 citrus export season in the Western Cape, South Africa, will conclude two weeks ahead of schedule. This early end is attributed to the wet winter season, floods in mid-June, and recurring hailstorms, including one in W37 in the Citrusdal area. The premature end of the season will result in a 10% reduction in the harvest compared to estimates, which will pose challenges for suppliers in meeting their commitments.
