The Iberian seafood market is facing a shortage of hake-derived products, particularly hake sausage in W16. One of the main contributing factors to this shortage is the quiet fishing season in Argentina, which is one of the region's primary suppliers of hake. In addition, South Africa, another important origin market, is also experiencing challenges with hake fishing, specifically the Merluccius capensis variety, causing further disruptions in the supply chain of hake products to the Iberian market. As a result, businesses and consumers in the region may find it challenging to obtain sufficient supplies of hake-derived products, potentially leading to price increases and reduced availability.
