In Japan, the import volume of dried fruits has been stable for the past few years. However, global inflation in recent months and the sharp depreciation of the yen against the dollar and euro have led to lower import volumes. In conversations with importers, the influence of products imported from around Europe is especially noticeable. For example, the import price of dried apricots from Turkey has increased by 1.5 times in a few months, and the volume of imports has decreased sharply. The import volume in July was allegedly half of last year's figure. In Japan, the demand for dried fruits is not very high, so there are concerns about further shrinkage of the market.
