In the wholesale market of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, prices for Hass avocados from Colombia, Peru, Mexico, and Morocco adjusted in response to market demand during W5. Colombian Hass avocados in the 12-24 size range, packed in 4kg boxes, increased from USD 13.56/box to USD 14.11/box, while those in the 26/28/30/32 size range, packed in 10kg boxes, remained at USD 27.13/box.

Peru's Hass avocados in the 14-18 size range, packed in 4kg boxes, were sold at USD 16.28/box, and those in the 20/24 size range were sold at USD 15.19/box. Moroccan avocados in the 14/22 size range maintained a price of USD 16.28/box. Mexican avocados in the 16-20 size range, packed in 4kg boxes, were sold at USD 14.65/box.

The market continues to face scarcity, with the spot market selling at elevated prices. Prices in retail programs are slightly lower than those mentioned. However, challenges are expected to persist in the coming week as Colombia experiences a shortage of fruit, leading to intense competition among buyers in the region. This competition can potentially drive fruit prices even higher, risking overpricing. Fortunately, there is anticipation of some volume from Peru, which may alleviate the situation and enable continued supply to customers.
