Russia introduced a duty on the export of flaxseed on 1 May 2022 that will last until 31 August 2022. The tax amounts to 20% but not less than USD 100/MT which made flaxseed culture a non-profitable product to export during that period. Producers and exporters expect that the Russian Ministry of Agriculture will not extend the tax, which will bring export interest back to Russian flaxseed starting from September.
