The intervention of Russia, the world's largest wheat exporter, in the markets since the end of 2020 causes changes in the league of importers and exporters. Looking for an alternative to the country's high taxes, North African and Asian countries turn to countries such as Romania, Bulgaria, Canada and Argentina.

Three countries in the Black Sea Region, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, have taken the global leadership in grain production and trade in the last 20 years and have become the largest wheat exports, surpassing the USA and France. Russia became the top of the world wheat export with its sales exceeding 38 million tons in 2020/21 period.
