Russia Ukraine war leads to a new opportunity in trading frozen salmon

Is the market coming down? As of this moment, Russia and Ukraine are at war. Most of the world has sanctioned Russia and stopped all business towards them. So far, Chile has not had any sanctions towards Russia. However, MSC and transportation companies are blocking deals to be done. Chile mainly exports frozen salmon to the USA, Russia, and Asia. However, it is in a period where available salmon have been at an all-time low!

One source in Russia states that it has just gotten a cancellation on 40 FCL from Chile, saying that about 60 other containers heading to Russia will be stopped. The volume from Chile is expected to increase. Meanwhile, Chile is now asking app USD 8.20-8.50 per kg CIF HOG into EU. Price is expected to drop by USD 1.00 per kg in a short time
