Seafood imports to Iran have increased by 41% in the previous fiscal year

Iran has exported 146K MT of fish and seafood products during the last fiscal year (Mar 2019 - Mar 2020) which consistently mainly of trout, caviar, and shrimps. From these exports, the country has generated nearly USD 540 million in revenue.

On the other hand, Iran has increased seafood imports by more than 41% by importing 29K MT tons worth USD 99 million in value during the last fiscal year.
The country is expecting to have more exports and fewer imports during the current fiscal year, as the local currency has significantly been depreciating against the US dollar.
