Severe congestion at Salalah port causing delay in vessel schedules

Since last week, severe congestion at Salalah port has disrupted the berthing process. As a result, the vessels have been re-routed to Colombo and other nearer ports. This has caused a delay in the ETA of the vessels for up to three weeks and the delay is expected to increase more if the situation remains unresolved. Cargos containing perishable items are at the highest risk since there is a high chance of damage to products' health due to this delay.
